- Riverside Park - Great spot to run, bike, or relax with a view of the Hudson River.
- The Cathedral of St. John the Divine - One of the largest cathedrals in the world, hosting concerts, art exhibits, and community events. Highly recommended.
- Riverbank State Park - Year-round track, roller skating in spring/summer, ice skating in winter, indoor and outdoor pools.
- Highbridge Park - Home to High Bridge, the oldest bridge in the City, connecting Manhattan and the Bronx. Trails, basketball courts, cycling trails.
- Morningside Park - Close to the main campus. Small but nice.
- Van Cortlandt Park

- Bennett Park - Highest natural point in Manhattan.

Good for when you need to decompress.
- 119th Community Garden
- Conservatory Garden (Central Park; between 104th and 106th Streets on the East side)
- The Met Cloisters (Inwood; 99 Margaret Corbin Drive, Fort Tryon Park)
- Julia Gabriel People’s Garden (Morningside Heights; 501 W 111th Street)
- Sakura Park (Morningside Heights; north of West 122nd Street between Riverside Drive and Claremont Avenue)
- West Harlem Piers (West Harlem; Marginal Street and West 132nd Street)
